As well as having a very distinct approach and style Joe Robinson XL also uses humour to great effect – both in creative work and other practice.

Used directly humour can provide a powerful resource to help break down barriers, face challenging topics and link people together in a way that is direct, honest and universal. Used indirectly humour also provides a way to enliven and entertain and, with art work, to perhaps challenge expectations.

Examples include commissioning a comedy show rat burgerto launch a multi-million pound funding scheme within a socially fragmented community – the work tackled existent conflict and cynicism head on and brokered a brand new positive partnership. Along with that there’s selling Rat Burgers (!) and the case of sticking pink bunny rabbits to ceilings… but you’ll have to ask what that is all about…
